Finally got around to testing this chinois on a batch of tomato sauce, and the 23 cm diameter was just right for my largest pot. The mesh is noticeably finer than my old colander, catching every seed and bit of skin. It's already earned a permanent spot in my utensil drawer.

I was surprised how fine the mesh is on this 23 cm chinois—it catches every seed and bit of pulp when I strain stock. Works great for smooth sauces, though the handle could be a bit longer to rest more securely on my pot.

Finally got this for my kitchen and it's been great for making smooth sauces. The 23 cm size is pretty practical for most of my pots, though I wish the holes were just a tiny bit smaller for finer purees.
